Whatever your preferred style of Martial Arts, I will increase your efficiency and effectiveness. Having competed at the highest level for many years, I have trained with and fought amongst the best fighters on the planet. Having witnessed the training methods of many professional athletes from all corners of the globe, as well as the effects that the training and competing has after years of repetition, I am inspired to help others train in a smarter, more balanced way... one that is conducive to longevity. I believe skills can continue to improve year after year with the right approach, but it is crucial to keep the body healthy in order for this to manifest. Hard training must be balanced with soft training, and that balance changes as we age. For optimal performance: mind, body and Spirit must align. |
I am in the unique position of having competed 5 times for the world's premier Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) organisation - The Ultimate Fighting Championships (UFC), as well as receiving a deep understanding of the ancient martial art of Tai Chi Ch'uan.
I was a star of The Ultimate Fighter, Season 9: USA vs UK, captained by Michael Bisping - who is currently the UFC Middleweight Champion.
I spent five years setting up and running The New Wave Academy MMA club in London, where at one point, the fighters who turned professional under me accumulated a combined record of 22 wins, 0 losses (...pretty sure that's never been done before!).
None of my 18 career opponents were able to finish me in a fight. All but one of my professional victories came in the first round.

On June 27th 2015, I became the first person in history who has fought at the UFC level to represent the Internal Martial Arts (Tai Chi Ch'uan) in the sport of MMA. After almost 5 years out from competition, I headlined the inaugural Macto Championships event and successfully defeated boxing specialist Kyle Redfearn in the first round.
I have had articles published for the world's most popular MMA and Kung Fu Magazines, and I commentate live on UFC Fight Pass for the world's best grappling event: Polaris Pro.
I offer traditional Tai Chi Ch'uan training combined with the best from the modern sport of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), including
- Striking (all ranges)
- Takedowns
- Takedown defence
- Getting back to the feet from the floor
- Cage/wall work
- Submission fighting (BJJ)
- Ground 'n pound (striking on the ground)
- Plus fighter advice on nutrition, weight-cuts, fight camps

"After training in mixed martial arts for the last nine years, winning two amateur title belts at lightweight and featherweight, and winning my last title for fighting at Shock and Awe 23 in Portsmouth, I had been looking for new ways to improve and develop myself. Not just as a mixed martial art fighter, but as a lifelong martial artist, I had been practicing my yoga and meditation and felt that I needed to look further to find something new to push me mentally as well as physically. I then found Nick Osipczak workshops, which were perfect. I have found ways to connect my body and mind with the techniques and skills he has been teaching me. I have been able to focus internally, mentally, and with freeing my body of tension through movement and soft technical training. He has been a huge help and a massive inspiration. This has helped me in my personal life as well as in the gym, even keeping my mind at peace while walking into the cage."

"I came to Nick proceeding a year-long stay in Wudangshan, where I studied Xuan Wu Pai in a small group school environment. My hope was to bridge some of the gaps contained in a more traditional style of training. I quickly learned that Nick's style was a refreshing, hands-on martial approach to the tutelage, and wonderfully effective, while still being steeped in traditional knowledge. In a few short weeks, I saw my understanding and capability as an internal martial arts practitioner grow in ways I had not expected or hoped for under the insightful guidance of one of the most gifted teachers that I have had the pleasure to know."
