This symbol is based on the ancient Chinese Bagua, which literally translates as "8 Trigrams".
It offers insight into the fundamental nature of reality, depicting the different phases or seasons which are expressed as various combinations of yin and yang.
It offers insight into the fundamental nature of reality, depicting the different phases or seasons which are expressed as various combinations of yin and yang.
The trigrams are composed of three lines stacked on one another, either yang (unbroken) or yin (broken). Each trigram represents one of the 8 forms of primordial energy; the building blocks of the cosmos.
Clockwise from top: Heaven, Lake, Fire, Thunder, Wind, Water, Mountain, Earth.
Through exposure to and contemplation of this symbol, one can deepen their appreciation for the cyclical and interconnected nature of all things.
To observe whilst remaining centred, one can learn to harmonise with change, rather than to resist or oppose it, leading to a more peaceful existence.

HEMP PAPER FACTS
- One acre of hemp (grown in approximately 120 days) yields as much paper as up to 4 acres of trees (which take many years to grow).
- Hemp paper is stronger and can withstand much more folding than tree-based paper.
- Hemp is low in lignin content and naturally light in color, so fewer chemicals and less bleach are needed in production.
- Hemp paper has a much longer shelf life that tree-based paper, and is acid-free so it doesn't yellow as quickly either.
- Hemp paper can be recycled 10 times whereas tree-based paper can only be recycled twice without losing integrity and requiring additional virgin fibre content.
- China has been making hemp paper for at least 1,900 years.
- Both the Gutenberg Bible (15th C.) and the King James Bible (17th C.) were printed on hemp-based papers.
- In 1776, Thomas Jefferson, a hemp farmer, wrote the first two drafts of the Declaration of Independence on hemp paper.
